Thinking of an Engagement Shoot?
You might be wondering why some people think engagement shoots are worth doing so I have put together 4 reasons why I think they are a great idea before your wedding day!
1. It helps you get to know your Photographer better. You can see if you gel with your chosen Wedding Photographer. You will be spending a lot of time together on your wedding day so it’s a great chance to get to get to know each other better in a relaxed, fun, informal way.
2. Most people tend to feel uncomfortable in front of the camera. They tend to pull funny faces or have a stiff, awkward smile (Remembering Chandler in Friends here). An engagement shoot gives you the chance to feel comfortable in front of the camera. You will be well used to feeling like a model once your wedding day arrives!
3. You can try out your wedding venue for possible backgrounds you might use on your special day. It is a chance for you to get a good look around your venue without rushing around or thinking about your guests as you would be on your wedding day. You could go to an alternative venue for your engagement shoot, somewhere that holds a special memory. Alternatively, a location you just love, maybe somewhere funky or quirky just for the hell of it!
4. You can use the photographs for your ‘save the date’ card, guest books or your wedding invites. Or you could just print off a few to give to your family as little keep sakes as you probably don’t get together in one photograph that often!
