These types of photo shoots are great fun for all, as it is a way for you to interact as a family, doing your favourite things while I potter around in the background capturing all the natural interactions, activities as they unfold. I’m telling a little story about you & your family in the comfort of your own home.
Hobbies
It’s good to photograph the kids doing something they love! Thinking of their favourite hobbies before the shoot, so we have a few things to work with on the day. The girls in this family like crafts which was great for me with all the vibrant colours to photograph, I was on to a winner!
Interacting with Mum and Dad
This is a fab way for you to interact as a family, playing board games, cooking together, reading or chatting (no TV please) – all make brilliant, natural, fun photographs! Capturing the character of all the individuals in the house, even the pets get in on the scene!
Back Garden Family Photographs
How about some fun, location shots in your garden? A great way to get some fresh air while having fun as a family being photographed without having to pose or be still! This is particularly good for younger children so they don’t have to be in one place & say ‘cheese’ while being photographed, so they don’t look stiff & bored!
Something a bit arty
As a Photographer you really have the freedom to try out lots of different styles, & angles while remaining sympathetic to the people you are photographing which is ideal for lifestyle shoots! It’s great to try some ‘arty’ black & white shots too. They would make lovely wall art of the children being themselves!
Pets
Let’s not forget our furry friends ! It’s a great chance to get some fun photographs of our pets in their natural environment. I must be honest & say I think they are my favourite subjects! Just love all animals!
