Westmead Hotel, Jade & Tom.

Jade and Tom tied the knot at the fab Westmead Hotel in Birmingham. It was a super fun Winter wedding, with an elegant feel and a guitarist to keep guests entertained.

These Guys

When I met up with Tom & Jade, at their wedding venue, they were so friendly & chilled out I knew we would get along. They were planning a very relaxed wedding with a few quirky ideas thrown into the mix including a Saxophonist with the DJ & a solo guitarist for part of the day. Tom said he didn’t like having his photograph taken & he wanted loads of informal photographs just showing the day as it unfolded.

Jade told me a bit about how they meet: “Tom and I met about 6 years ago while camping near Brighton, I went with some friends and Tom was camping for the weekend with his son. We all got talking and spent the weekend enjoying the sunshine, chatting and having a BBQ. We spent about 2 years travelling between Brighton and Birmingham dating until I moved to Birmingham to live together….sometimes I guess you’re just meant to meet people!”

The Westmead Hotel

The Westmead is a great venue for a wedding party & for couples who want a relaxed day. Jade said the following about why they choose this venue, “The venue we both liked as soon as we looked around, thought it was perfect for a winter wedding. The Westmead is also a venue Tom’s nan and granddad used quite a lot for their parties, birthday’s, anniversary etc. Toms grandad passed away the year before so it felt right to have it at the Westmead.”

Getting Ready

Jade & her bridesmaids got ready at the hotel. It was bustling with excitement, lots of bubbly & a few understandable nerves. The bridesmaids wore red wine colour evening gowns while Jade wore an elegant figure hugging lacy detail wedding dress. Everything looked so sophisticated & tasteful to fit the feel of a winter wedding in a classic hotel.

The serious part

The ceremony took place in a stylishly dressed room at The Westmead. The ceremony included a reading from one of Jade’s bridesmaids. It was an emotional occasion, filled with joy & laughter. There was also a guitarist playing tunes while they signed the register.

The Winter wedding Reception

After the ceremony the guests gathered in the bar area, chatting & having a drink. This was a great time to take a few staged photographs of Jade & Tom together & a couple of group shots to please the parents. The wedding was held late on the afternoon in the winter so by the time the ceremony had finished there was no day light left outside, all the images were taken inside, mainly on the elegant stairway & in front of the floral wall. Guests were then called for dinner, which was a slap up meal – it was delicious. After dinner there were some hilarious speeches which had everyone in stitches, great photo ops for me!

The party

On the evening the DJ played all the best songs to get everyone up dancing & something I’d never seen before was an accompanying saxophonist which really added a special unique touch to the celebrations. The venue has got such a fun vibe, especially in the main room when the room is full of people having a great party.The evening ended with sparklers, which was just stunning, and everyone had a great time. The whole Winter wedding was so laid back, from the bride’s awesome dress to the sparkler exit.

Top tips for planning a wedding from the bride & groom

Hmmm advice!!?? Defiantly plan it together as much as you can we had so much fun planning our big day, remember that it’s your day so do what’s best for you. You will find that so many people have opinions and you can’t please everyone so just do what’s right for you, after all its your big day and you only have one! Everyone says that the day goes so quickly and it really is sooo true!! So just take 5 minuets together at some point just to enjoy the moment….
